Fluffy Legwarmers, they are every ravers dilemma creeps nearer but why? The fluffy trade is a fierce believe it not, all is not fluffy and cuddly, these little critters are fierce little retail monsters! But do you really need all that jazz? After all a fluffy legwarmer life is short in comparison to the actual rave outfit you purchased. Well yes, the fluffy boot cover is a staple in any ravers wardrobe and no outfit is a raver outfit without a pair.
Embarking on the journey of this fabulous clubwear consumable, which can rather daunting whether a newbie or veteran raver. Price ranges vary from one retailer to another, and the biggest question is are they going to cover up my smelly trainers? If they don’t then this is fatal to any clubber they were originally designed for this sole purpose alone.
Price comparison is a major factor, but so is quality and the cut of the legwarmer. Most important is the full coverage of the shoe, but this is worthless if the cut is wrong. You need visible symmetry giving the illusion of a straight line all round, otherwise it looks all wrong and home made.
The ever growing culture, even though old, does not allow design and innovation to stand still but you just can’t beat a pair of classic white, hot pink or black fluffies. Hands down every time plain fluffies will always win as a staple in the wardrobe, the tweak of a band colour sets off most outfits and hey presto outfit complete and the colours are basic allowing for more uses. Whites do struggle and an ongoing purchase for any raver however the big dirt line at the bottom of the fur is unavoidable, there is a general acceptance your lucky they will last 2 nights but are a perfect buy to match your outfit so you can experiment with band colours and patterns.
Once you’ve settled in your routine of colours then a couple of test purchases from the retailer is needed. Every retailer has a unique edge and usually a favoured manufacturer. This can be down to a couple of reasons, one being they manufacturer themselves and quality of fur used and more importantly the cut of the pattern. The retailer hopefully has done their research and specialises in the rave wear market way forward. Don’t be fooled by cheaper fluffies, they might not be what your looking for and there is something to be said for consistency and delivery.
If you can look to build a relationship with your retailer, this way you will get the most from them, deals on multiple pairs, fast delivery and urgent requests and build your own colour combinations. Any retailer worth their salt will be able to do this for you and a good test of their relationship with the manufacturer. Once you establish this then you are on your road to fluffy freedom!
